Giuseppe Di Martino – Contemporary Art & Abstract Painting
I am Giuseppe Di Martino (1992), a contemporary artist. In my large-format works using acrylic and mixed media on canvas, I develop my own visual language. My paintings oscillate between abstraction, symbolism, and spiritual depth. At the core of my work are questions of identity, origin, and the connection between microcosm and macrocosm.
I experienced a formative moment during my school days: I won an art competition in which three classes participated – and realized how powerfully creativity can touch and inspire people. Art was omnipresent in my parents' home, influenced by my mother's studies in art and philosophy.
After school, I initially decided on a career in craftsmanship and successfully completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter/joiner. Through technical drawing, I discovered a new, precise perspective on artistic work. At the same time, I regularly participated in painting courses, including those at the Kolping Art School, and became a member of the Vaihingen an der Enz Fine Art Shop, where I further developed my skills through workshops and exhibitions.
Important milestones in my exhibitions and artistic development:
- 09.06.2022 Permanent exhibition in the Vaihingen an der Enz City Library

- 03.06.2024 Solo exhibition, Watapanatattoo, Berlin
- 13.08.2025 – Acceptance as an artist at Singulart and start of international online sales of my works
In April 2023, I moved to Berlin to intensify my artistic work. Here, I regularly visit important exhibitions and museums to gain inspiration from current trends and participate in a variety of workshops to further refine my techniques. Since August 13, 2025, I have been officially represented as an artist on Singulart and present my works to an international audience.
From September to November 2025, I will be participating in a three-month intensive course at the Artgeschoss art school in Berlin-Schöneberg. Classes will be held full-time, Monday to Friday, and will cover both art history and practical painting techniques. These include drawing, life drawing, portraiture, oil and acrylic painting, perspective, shading, and landscape painting. The goal is to expand my forms of expression, deepen my technical skills, and explore new artistic approaches.
In February 2026, I will begin my master's degree at the renowned Master School for Carpenters at the Schools for Wood and Design in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – with a focus on art and design. This combination of art and craft is my vision: to create works that are not just viewed, but experienced.
Artistic themes & style
My art explores the opposites and connections of life—light and shadow, chaos and order, joy and melancholy. I create visual worlds in which dream and reality merge: luminous landscapes that expand into cosmic spheres, surreal forms that seem to come from another dimension, and symbolically rich details that invite viewers to explore.
Stylistically, my work is rooted in Surrealism . I combine flowing lines and organic forms with bold color contrasts—primarily violet, green, and orange tones—to create emotional and visual tension. My inspiration stems from philosophical questions, spiritual impulses, and human emotions. Richly textured surfaces lend my works a tactile presence, while clear color compositions enhance depth and expression.
My painting invites us to pause and remember the invisible: that which is greater than us, and that part of us that senses that everything is connected.
In addition to my exhibitions, I have sold numerous works to private collectors and have a steadily growing presence on social media, where my work reaches an international audience. My goal is to continually deepen my passion for painting and reach new artistic heights.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude – for this life that allows me to live my passion, and for every encounter that arises through my art. Every connection, every conversation, and every shared wonder are a gift to me.
Best regards
Giuseppe Di Martino
